AES signs a joint letter to support solar workforce development

Montana Busch, President of AES and electrical apprenticeship graduate, has been working with the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) and International Renewable Energy Council (IREC) in pursuit of solar workforce development. The attached letter is signed by AES along with other solar organizations from around the nation. It was sent to the Department of Labor to request that they recognize the solar power industry's need for a DOL-approved apprenticeship program, something they denied originally. Solar is the fastest-growing job market in the nation and 1 out of every new 50 jobs are in solar.  It's time for governmental authorities to recognize the booming solar industry by developing structured training programs among other things.
