Solar & Battery Consultant
THE ROLE
The Solar & Battery Consultant is our customer’s main contact for the entire sales process. This person will demonstrate technical aptitude, sincerity, confidence and a high degree of professionalism. They will work to build strong relationships with our clients, set realistic customer expectations and properly represent the AES brand. TheConsultant will spend much of their time meeting with prospects at the potential job locations and virtually, designing systems in a digital environment, generating proposals, and following up with phone calls, texts and emails in order to close business opportunities. They will be the first face of AES which clients will see, so great first impressions are of utmost importance.RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicate AES products, value and brand to prospects in both commercial and residential markets.
- Track clients through the entire sales process, from initial discovery conversation, through consultation and design services, through follow-up and negotiation, to closing won business.
- Generate and present proposals and answer clients’ questions
- Use computer software to create code-compliant PV module layouts, rough electrical sketches and shading simulations
- Remain knowledgeable of our financing options
- Meet sales goals set by the Sales Manager
- Represent AES at events and drive lead generation
- Stay current on the solar industry (product offerings, code changes, market trends, etc)
- Maintain strict adherence to our sales SOP, including proper use of our CRM
- Attend weekly sales meetings (generally virtual)
- Perform preliminary site visits in both residential and commercial/industrial settings.
- Communicate with the technical team and management in order to generate accurate estimates and comprehensive scopes of work.
- Create proposals aligned with AES design and estimating practices
- Attend 1.5 events per month on average (18 per year) to self-generate leads
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have technical and mathematical skills
- Must have strong communication skills and be able to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Must demonstrate analytical, logical reasoning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Must have sufficient computer, typing, Zoom and Microsoft Office skills.
- Must have reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
- Consistent and prompt attendance to meetings is critical.
- Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment drug and background screening.
- Bachelors degree (preferred but not required)
- Extra consideration will be given to applicants with NABCEP Certification

Battery and Solar PV Electrical Technician
The Battery / Solar PV Technician will be part of Alternative Energy Southeast’s Field Operations team. As an integral member of the team, the ideal candidate will work cooperatively with other team members to successfully complete the installation of battery storage systems, EV wall connectors and equipment, and solar PV systems safely and on time for residential, commercial, and government clientele.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the assembly and installation of battery systems and mounting hardware, EV wall connectors/equipment.
- Assist with the electrical wiring of all our products and services.
- Work with the warehouse team to pull materials for each installation job.
- Attend occasional team meetings and, when required, training sessions on new products, installation methodology, and safety.
- Provide an exceptional customer experience throughout the process.
- Contribute to a safe work environment.
Requirements
- Electrical experience and general construction experience.
- Being comfortable with working on roofs.
- Experience using basic hand and power tools safely is required (ladders, power tools, inverters, solar panels, panelboards, batteries, lumber).
- Basic computer skills preferred.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have excellent customer service skills and be able to work well with others in a collaborative team environment.
- Physical ability to work in challenging environments throughout the year (e.g. hot sun, cold temperatures, attics, crawlspaces).
