Nuci’s Space in Athens Georgia is dedicated to inspiring a culture free of the stigma attached to brain illnesses and its sufferers, as well as suicide prevention.
Established in 2000, they provide support, guidance, access to affordable professional care and education about risk factors and prevention of brain illnesses.
Nuci’s Space is named after Nuci Phillips who was a talented musician and promising UGA student who lost his battle with depression and sadly, committed suicide.
In cooperation with the community solar program Solarize Athens, AES provided labor and materials to install a 9.86 kW solar power system on the roof of Nuci’s Space that will reduce their utility costs for decades to come. This allows more of their resources to be put towards their cause.
