About
Tim Blackwell’s commitment to clean energy spans over two decades. In 2001, Tim founded OneWorld Sustainable, Georgia's first renewable energy company that quickly expanded to include energy efficiency options as well as educational and international outreach initiatives. In 2003, his company created Georgia’s first interactive solar educational program for public schools using PV systems installed on school grounds as learning tools. These interactive PV systems encourage student interest in renewable energy and serve as a gateway into the broader issue of global sustainability. Tim’s international outreach work includes developing business linkages with Africa-based solar energy companies as well as donations of PV systems throughout East Africa and the Caribbean. Tim was co-founder of the Georgia Solar Energy Association of which he acted as Vice-Chair for several years. He has worked with several non-profit organizations to help develop Georgia’s solar infrastructure and promote financial incentives for those who add solar to their energy mix.
Tim joined Alternative Energy Southeast in 2018. As Business Operations Manager, his primary responsibility is to oversee company operations and initiate changes as needed. Tim also manages Human Resources and assists with materials procurement, project scheduling, and permitting. Tim offers AES a unique and valuable perspective based on exhaustive years in the solar industry.
